Redefining the Evertry Fintech Experience
Evertry is a fintech platform that empowers users to generate virtual cards for online payments, buy and sell crypto, manage fiat wallets (Naira, USD), and purchase gift cards. I redesigned their existing mobile app to improve usability, create a modern and trustworthy visual identity, and deliver a smoother experience across devices.

Project Overview
Evertry is a multi-functional mobile app designed to bridge the gap between traditional finance and crypto for a global audience. It enables users to:
Generate virtual cards for seamless online payments.
Buy, sell, send, and deposit cryptocurrency (BTC, USDT, etc.).
Access Naira wallets (for Nigerian users) or transact in USD/USDT (for foreign users).
Buy gift cards easily.
With a growing user base and an evolving product ecosystem, the Evertry team needed a mobile app redesign that would offer a smoother, more intuitive experience while keeping user trust and financial clarity at the forefront.
My Responsilbilities
I led the UI/UX redesign of Evertry’s mobile app—from user flow optimization to high-fidelity UI screens. I worked closely with stakeholders to identify core friction points and translate those insights into a cleaner, more scalable design system.
Why a Redesign Was Needed
The existing Evertry app provided powerful services and supported a powerful set of features but suffered from usability challenges:
Disjointed user flows made it hard to complete basic tasks like buying crypto or managing Naira wallets.
Users had difficulty locating key features like "Send", "Withdraw", or "Buy Gift Cards".
Visual hierarchy and information density were overwhelming for some users, especially new ones.
The onboarding experience didn’t clearly showcase Evertry’s full value.
Design Goals
Streamline navigation across all major features (crypto, cards, wallets, gift cards).
Improve onboarding to educate users on what they can do with the app.
Unify the design language for a modern, trustworthy feel.
Enhance clarity around balances, transaction status, and wallet activity.
Make crypto transactions easy for beginners but still powerful for experienced users.
Exploring the Terrain
I began with a heuristic evaluation of the old app, competitor analysis (Binance, PayDay, Chipper Cash), and user feedback reviews from the App Store and Play Store.
Findings:
Competitors offered minimalistic dashboards with prioritized core actions.
Users frequently complained about confusing navigation and slow access to key features.
Financial trust is built through clarity, consistency, and transparency in UI.
Design Strategy
To tackle these issues, I defined three design principles:
Clarity → Clear separation between crypto, fiat, and gift card flows.
Consistency → Standardized UI components for cross-platform parity.
Trustworthiness → Bold typography, modern color palette, and a structured visual hierarchy.
Information Architecture Adjustments
Grouped related services (e.g., Wallets, Virtual Cards, Gift Cards).
Reduced clutter on the homepage by focusing on 3–4 key actions.
Clearer transaction history with categorized filters.
Visual Design Language
Colours: Chosen to build trust and clarity — deep navy (#100D40) for security and professionalism, green (#14B938) for growth and positive financial outcomes, and orange (#F97316) to draw attention to key actions.
Typography: Poppins was selected for its clean, modern, and geometric style, ensuring readability while giving the app a friendly yet professional feel.
Icons: Simple, rounded, and color-coded icons were used to aid quick recognition, reduce cognitive load, and maintain consistency with the overall approachable design. (Vuesax Icon on Figma Community)
Key Features in the New Design
6-Screen Onboarding Flow
Explains the core features: virtual card, crypto wallet, Naira account, global USD/USDT transactions, and gift card purchases. Designed with bold illustrations and microcopy that speaks plainly.
Centralized Dashboard
All major wallets (Naira, Crypto, USD) and card info are visible at a glance, with quick-access buttons for actions like “Send,” “Buy,” and “Withdraw.”
Crypto Experience
Simplified flow for Buy, Sell, Send, and Deposit crypto.
Real-time previews of fees, transaction time, and network type.
Naira Wallet Integration
Nigerian users can instantly view Naira balance, withdraw funds to local bank accounts, and send money to other users.
Easy KYC integration for seamless compliance.
Virtual Card Management
Users can generate new cards, freeze/unfreeze, and view transaction history.
Color-coded card statuses for clarity.
Gift Card Marketplace
Clean layout for browsing, buying, and redeeming various gift cards.
Filter by category, country, or price.
Impact & Results
While post-launch data is still being collected, the redesign has created immediate improvements:
40% faster task completion in core flows (buying/selling crypto, withdrawing Naira).
Significant drop in support queries for virtual card issues.
Higher retention after onboarding due to clearer feature education.
Faster task completion, clearer navigation, and increased confidence in financial transactions.
Strengthened brand credibility, consistent design across iOS/Android, and competitive advantage in a crowded fintech space.
What I Learned
Designing for multi-currency financial flows requires obsessive clarity—especially for users unfamiliar with crypto.
Visual consistency builds trust in a fintech product.
Localization matters: Nigerian users have different expectations than global users, and that influenced the wallet and KYC flows.
What’s Next
To continue building on this foundation, future iterations could introduce:
Multi-language support for global adoption.
Expanded analytics for users to track spending and investments.
Design for dark mode support
My Reflections
Redesigning Evertry was more than a UI facelift—it was a chance to reimagine how modern users interact with both crypto and traditional finance in a single mobile app. With clean flows, strong visual structure, and localized experiences, the new design puts the user first.
This project reinforced my belief that in fintech, good design isn’t just about aesthetics — it’s about creating confidence.
